The Grand Opening

After a long wait, the first two tiny home units are finally open! Special thanks to everyone who came out last Friday to support us.

With at least 140 individuals and numerous news outlets present at the scene, it was needless to say that our tiny homes were crowded. In case you missed it, take a quick tour of our units through the short video below. Credits to Isabel Sanchez for putting this lovely video together.

The ceremony began with a blessing from the Pastor of Heavenly Vision Apostolic Church, our neighbour and supporters since day one. In support of THG, Mayor Stephanie Miner delivered a heartwarming speech at our opening ceremony.

But the highlight of the event was none other than our first resident, Dolphus Johnson's speech. As usual, Dolphus kept things real, thanked everyone and expressed his excitement to move in before cutting the ribbon to his tiny home. For the remainder of the event, Dolphus made sure to lead the guest on a tour of his house.

The event came to a closing with a neighbourhood barbecue catered by Dinosaur Barbecue. Special thanks to everyone who made generous contributions to make this event successful.
