Last Sunday, August 7th, the THG family hosted our first family dinner at the Brady Faith Center. Some board members, staff, our two residents and close friends were present to share this moment to bring the community together.
What would a dinner be without a warm home cooked meal? Our Executive Director Andrew Lunetta, or head chef of the night, made vegetarian lasagna. Board member Bill Elkins and wife Betsy Elkins brought some bread and cold soup to battle the hot summer weather. For desert, a fellow THG supporter brought a delicious batch of strawberry shortcake.
As dinner is served, the family enjoys a nice slideshow of some pictures of THG's progress over the years. Nothing brings a community together like talking about the good times working together for a common goal, and in this case, a goal to alleviate homelessness in Syracuse.
The Board members and other family and friends who were not able to make it were terribly missed. However, the dinner was nonetheless very successful! It provided an opportunity for our residents in socially engage with their support system. The dinner was also a great opportunity for the THG family to catch up with one another lives despite everyone's busy schedules.
From now on, the family dinner will be a regular THG event, hopefully hosted once a month. Special thanks to everyone who was able to make it. One last thing- has anyone noticed Andrew's amazing shirt? Here's a close up. Stay tuned to hear more about our future projects!
